Course Overview:

The Functional Skills English course is designed for learners who need to develop practical
English skills for everyday situations, work, and further education. This course focuses on building the core
competencies required to communicate effectively, both in written and spoken English. It is ideal for adults and
young learners who seek to improve their English proficiency to meet personal, professional, or educational
goals.

different contexts.

Week 23-30: Practical Application and Review

– Real-World Scenarios: Applying functional English skills to practical situations, such as job applications,
workplace communication, and problem-solving tasks.
– Course Recap: Review of key concepts and preparation for final assessments.

Week 4-10: Reading for Meaning

– Text Types and Purposes: Identifying different types of texts (e.g., instructions, reports, emails) and
their purposes.

Week 17-22: Speaking and Listening

– Effective Communication: Techniques for clear and concise verbal communication in various settings.
